Being "Saved"

Dear friend,

Hebrews 9:27 states; "as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" so one day you will stand in front of your Creator and God, and answer for everything you have done in your life.  This includes not only what you did but also all your thoughts, intents, EVERYTHING; "For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested." (Mark 2:22)  "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."  (Matthew 12:36)

So what will be your response to all that you have done?  "I've been a good person?"

What is God's response?

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"  (Romans 3:10)

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."  (Isa 64:6)

No matter how good you are you can never attain God's righteousness.

So, when you stand in judgment before God what is the penalty you nust pay?

"For the wages of sin is death;" (Romans 6:23a)

"And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:"  (Matthew 25:46)

You earn death for the sins you commit.  This death is an everlasting punishment in the Lake of Fire that will burn forever.

"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."   (Revelation 20:15)

Just imagine burning in a lake of fire forever. With no hope of ending, no hope of relief. This punishment was made for the Devil and his angels but you will be there too if you reject God and His sure mercies.

So how do we get to Heaven?

God doesn't want anyone to suffer eternal damnation.

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us–ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (II Peter 3:9)

So here is the Gospel message:
Paul the Apostle said,
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"  (I Corinthians 15:1-4)

God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect, sinless life on this earth.  He was rejected by men and crucified on the cross. He died and was buried, but after three days He arose alive out of the grave with forgiveness for everyone who would believe in Him and accept His free gift of salvation!

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  (John 3:16)

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."   (John 3:36)

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"...the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23b)

If you are truly thinking this over in your heart I challenge you to read one of the Gospels in the Bible. See for yourself how Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again with salvation. Repent of your sins; believe on Jesus Christ, ask forgiveness from God and accept Him into your heart.

Your eternal destination hangs on your decision in this matter.  Don't waste one moment! Come to Christ now and know you will have an eternity of rejoicing in Heaven with a just and loving God!
